Title: Sound activated LEDs?
Post by: NoBonus on March 07, 2005, 06:52:58 pm
Does anyone have a good method to wire sound activated LEDs in a cab?  I am thinking of having a light panel + trackball light that get brighter with louder sounds, softer with softer sounds.  Any ideas on this one?  I would prefer it get power from my PC or a wall outlet (no batteries!).  Any ideas? is there perhaps a toy of some sort I could purchase cheaply and hack?

Thanks!

You can probably use a sound level meter to accomplish what you want.

You could also use a color organ.
I built one of the 3 channels back in HighSchool.
Had some good times with that...ha

Here's a more simple one for 10 bucks

Hook up christmas lights or something.
Be careful of heat buildup though... maybe???

Interesting... has anyone else done a sound activated light system?  Also, do you think the Christmas light color organ could be hooked up to a LED cannon?
