So what have you guys used, and wich one is the best for ya. I hacked a couple ps2 pads, and I dont want to hack xbox pads too. So an adapter is what I want. Could you guys point me in the direction of the best one? Ive seen two on liksang, but both are out of stock. :(
What about these ones?

I have that one and it works GREAT!! The odd time I get a "controller disconnect" message, but all and all it works great!
I can even hook up my PS2 Dance Pad to the adapter and that works on Xbox too.

Hey Snaake, do you think that the Magicbox will allow me to hack a PS2 controller and use that for Xbox games in my arcade cabinet? I'm still trying to determine the best way to integrate an Xbox into my cabinet and get it to read the analog stick as a digital stick. Ultimarc got it close with the Xbox, but he mentions he couldn't get the L&R buttons to work. Is the PS2 controller a viable substitue for a cabinet? Hopefully there isn't any lag either.

I'd certainly assume it is.
you also might want to consider taking a high quality joystick like the hori fighting pad pro, and hacking that apart for your controls. I'm sure you could swap out parts in it.

The only problem I have with hacking a joystick is that it would need to have the joystick read the analog controller as digital. Most of the joysticks only use the directional pad as their control, and I need it to read as the analog stick so that I can play more than just the fighting games.

hori fighting stick 2.

let's you choose either analog stick or the dpad. also allows the use of the L3 and R3 buttons or their equivalent, something I have never seen on other controllers and something you will need for an xbox-based cab, assuming you're running evox.

No kidding. I might need to pick one up and try the Xbox adapter. If it works well I might need to give this a shot.
I think I'm going to give this a shot because it has analog capability...

I'm guessing I can just clip the wire that runs from the circuit board to the button, put a fork connector on the end, wire the fork to a barrier block, and then run a wire from the block to the arcade controls. I'm hoping that will work. What do others think? Is that possible?

I picked up 2 of those, and they just arrived today, so far so good. havent tested them much, but I did play a few rounds of Soul Calibur and they seem to work great. Thanks for all the info guys.
