thanks for the tip. I'm gonna try to make anothe XP/Pro Boot CD w/SP2 in it.

In the US you can also order SP1 / SP2 on a CD free from Microsoft.
There is a standalone version of both SP1 and SP2 that you can download from Microsoft, they are designed for people that have mutiple computers and don't want to download the patch n times.
You can always put those standalone SP installers on a separate CD. Not as "neat" as slipstreaming but it works just fine too.

Word of warning.....
While MS recommends you use windows update to upgrade a computer.
you probably don't want do this on a freshly installed computer.
Install the SP2 from CD before placing the computer on a network.
There are too many viruses out there that can infect your computer in the couple of minutes where it doesn't have adequate protection. (current patches, etc)

The above warning still applies, you might get infected while you download SP2 (this was tested for real by several computer magazines). I'd recommend installing your firewall and antivirus first, then download SP2, or download it from a computer that is already protected.
