Title: Anyone have personal experience w/Dynamo Showcase cab? Have questions....
Post by: daveg2000 on March 01, 2005, 11:19:08 pm
Anyone out there using a Dynamo Cabinet (or have access to one?)

I have some minor questions on the design of one...
(Using blueprints off Jakobud's website)

It would be great to talk to someone or to see pics of some of the parts that I have questions with...

I just sold one to American Demon.

What question do you have?

My 1st question is where the 2 bases join together..
(monitor pedestal & joystick pedestal)

On the one I saw awhile ago.. I remember it being
held together by bolts... which means the two
pieces somehow 'fit' or 'lock' together before running the bolts
through the wood.

On the plans on Jakobud's site, they dont really show the pieces
interlocking at all... on the one main side veiw that is shown, in the plans, it  appears as if the pieces are just 'snug up' resting against eachother.
(without attaching in anyway)

On my Showcase the pedestal and the main body don't interlock, you just snug them together and then run the bolts into them. then you have two small panels that cover the access area for the bolts.

That's right, they are flush. There's a hole through the middle of both pieces for the wiring.

The sides of the pedestal have trim boards that come off and you can reach in and screw the pieces together.

The pedestal for the monitor is like a T.
The monitor pedestal has 4 bolts that hold the monitor box on it.

The pedestal has the CP mounted on it, the CP was 4 1/2" thick + a 3/4" MDF top.
