Title: Trackball - Mame Analog Settings
Post by: rampy on October 29, 2002, 09:29:27 pm
Yeah, I know.. it's been asked a billion times.  I *did* search the forum, but didn't find much even though I KNOW it's been covered here before.

What settings are people using with a 3" arcade trackball in MAME Analog settings?

I know its recommended if you're doing to mouse hack to disable mouse driver acceleration.  Any other tips?

What are some good ballpark settings for different trackball games?

I found that some games have a dip switch setting for differnt trackball (sizes?) Capcom bowling for instances has a 1, 2, 3, and 4 setting... I found 2 worked well for me... but I don't konw what "2" means =P

*shrug* any and all tips guidelines are appreciated.

I usually find that games work best with the analog controls --> sensitivty at about 2 to 2.5 times higher than a normal PC mouse (ie: the default mame setting) with 3" TBs.  Of course, normal PC mice vary too, so this is just a ball park number.  Too bad you can't edit these settings outside of mame like you can with the ctrlr.ini inputs. :(

What's worse is that you'll lose all your tweaks when you update MAME...
