Has anyone had any durability problems in mounting joysticks from underneath (screws, no blots) in a 3/4" panel (5/8 MDF, 1/8 Plexi)? Thanks.

Thats what i did on my mirrored cp so i wouldnt have the bolts in the way and makeing it look like crap , i havent had any problems

I think that the only concern is that with rough play, the screws might pull out.
T-nuts OTOH might solve that problem.

Thanks

I mounted mine with short, fat screws and it's not been a problem. Even when I've redid my CP and had to remove them, they were fixed in there really tight. As for rough place, I'm pretty sure my joystick innards would snap way before my joysticks came loose.

Into MDF?

Oops. Good point. Melamine.
-
so its not a good idea to route out the CP to allow the joystick to sit higher?
-
Actaully, I want to know the exact same thing. I want to route out the bottom so theres more room for a stick and I was going to use Tnuts, hwo would this be?

Great examples on Oscar's site about using T-nuts for his Williams multigame cab. I used this on my Frankpanel and they work GREAT!!
