Title: Do vendors not want to sell to me ?
Post by: vader on February 25, 2005, 04:01:56 pm
Decided to build a cocktail for arcadedepot and emailed for a quote....they replied they would get one together for me with shipping cost.....it's been 2 days....no response.  Happs has the visionpro 19" on sale for 160.00......I want it....but trying to find out shipping cost and they just don't want to give it out.  Arcadeshop.....thank god....they talk to me and give answers....i have money and want to spend it....people don't want it though...lol.....and NO BYOAC'ers....I'm not giving you my money....LOL

The amusement industry are "dinosaurs". They're run by old guys and they aren't exactly "with it" when it comes to technology. All they know is selling goods. Look at how long it took just to get their site changed from a 'frames" version! And that "click here to view price"... what was that?!

Anyways, the point I'm getting at is they probably suck at email communication like alot of older companies. Try the phone.

(UPS Ground shipping of a Vision Pro II to CANADA was about $50)

Not bad.

Happ charges actual shipping via UPS. No more, no less. That can be really high if you order something that is "oversize" by UPS standards, but a 19" monitor won't be bad.

I have always found ArcadeShop.com a great place to deal with.  They also sell empty cabs as well.  Your best bet would to to spend the money with Steve at ArcadeShop, he's not going to mug you on the shipping and he always answers questions too.  I try to use happ as a last option because I have to pass along that shipping price in what I buy from them.  I also wonder why Happ charges IL state sales tax when I am in NY.  If anyone knows that answer I would love to hear it.

Thanks
Charlie

I'm gonna deal with arcadeshop....even if it is 20 bucks more......I've ordered from him in the past and things went smoothly and he was upfront with me earlier this week on the shipping.  Tried calling earlier to order, but guess he closed up shop...will order over the weekend or Monday.  Still trying to get shipping on a arcadedepot cocktail kit, but no response as of yet....from what I gather...it would be 65 bucks...but I wanna be sure.....does anyone here have a visionpro 19" cga monitor hooked up to a arcadevga....how is the quality for games and windows...can u read the text ?

Thanks

Tim

I bought a cocktail cabinet kit from ArcadeDepot about this time last year.  Initially I had a few communication issues but overall I would definitely recommend them to anyone.  Their quality is top notch.
