Okay... I have a color vector monitor (in a plywood lined box) sitting on my front porch, just arrived via fedex. I am not home. My wife cannot move it, it's too heavy for her. It is 28 degrees.
Would I be in danger of venting the tube if I brought this into the 70 degree house? Or should I maybe put it in the basement first, which is around 60 degrees.
I realize the odds are probably pretty slim, but I'd be really pissed if I vented a color vector monitor with zero burn.

If the surface temp of the monitor was 28 degrees and then you applied 70 degree water to it, then the monitor would most likely crack, but if you just move it inside where the monitor has time to adjust to the temperature (70 degree house), then I would believe you'd be fine.

I put it in the basement to warm up. It's colder down there.
I hope he packed that thing well, it's in a retail pc monitor box, and the box is soggy and kicked.
