How do you wire a arcade steerer to jamma? my wheel has got what looks like a optical board similar to this set up...
http://www.oscarcontrols.com/projects/steeringwheel2.htm
but i need to know how to connect it to jamma,
but there are three wires plus earth wire coming of the small board,
do they not just connect to left, right and earth? or do they got to a jamma+ type connector?
if so would this mean the game has to be able to be used with a steering wheel.
thanks

Optical hookups are game specific.
They aren't "jamma". Jamma can support 5 buttons and 1 joystick.
World Rally is an example. There is a switch for each type of controller from joystick to a full 360. But the hookup isn't the same as the joystick.
You have to have the manual for the game to see where it hooks up. Sometimes they hookup to the pcb. Golden tee's are like that, they have a special connector on the board. They are jamma.
I have a centipede to jamma converter that uses the inputs for button 4 and 5 (spares on jamma) for the trackball. You plug the PCB on one side and the pinout is different than jamma.

Is there a way to wire a wheel to a jamma?

He just told you...Wheels aren't specific to jamma, the games that need a wheel have special hookups for them, but there is nothing on a jamma harness for "steering wheel". What game are you trying to hook this wheel up to?

It will be used on Rally Bike and Drift out, Drift out i think can run on a joy stick and a wheel, but rally bike can only work on joystick. So I don't wan to change over the wiring/control panels every time I change games.
