What/who is your e-mail provider?

What version # of firefox are you using?

What extensions do you have? (some have caused serious conflicts like this, even if disabled)

What OS?

I can do both of those things with my firefox, so some more info is in order.  Also, Google your symptoms to see if this has happened to someone before and check their steps to solve this.

You two are missing the entire point of this post.

Now, on to the important part. What flavors of ice cream are they.

Seproth,

Do you realise that Avant is essentially an extension to IE?

With as relatively few problems as have been found with Firefox, the fairly quick turnaround in fixing them (as Erik pointed out), the customization and ability to bend Firefox to your will, and not the other way around, as with IE SHOULD lead others to look for alternatives even to Firefox (in search of an even BETTER solution), but your failure to investigate the background to your "solution", Seph, will probably lead him to not only ignore your "solution", but to wonder if you would have been able to help him even IF you used Firefox.

Telling someone their problem is that they're using the product they're asking for help with doesn't solve it, and clearly he's chosen to give it a try.  It's like telling someone the reason they're having their problem is that they're using Win98 instead of XP.  It doesn't solve their problem, it simply tells them you can't help them, and have no interest in helping them.

Hotmail is your issue with not getting e-mail.  I've ALWAYS had problems accessing Hotmail whenever I wasn't using straight IE.  Opera, Chameleon, Netscape, Firefox...all of them had issues.  It may clear up without you doing a thing to it, or it may be a security extension or checkbox not being checked....I'll see if I can replicate it on my XP box.

You might also want to consider getting a Gmail account (or don't, danny_galaga is SURE to post a link as to why you shouldn't, Big Brother and all) if you want another e-mail address to load up with spam.  Send me an e-mail to:  drewkaree AT gmail DOT kom (replace the....nevermind, you should know what to do)

E-bay, however, turns up nothing....yet.  Gimme a bit.

Is SSL disabled for BOTH hotmail AND e-bay?

Here's what's come up for Hotmail:

User Agent seems to be the issue with hotmail, along with making sure to ALLOW certain URL's.

Try this extension: http://extensionroom.mozdev.org/more-info/useragentswitcher
Try allowing the following URL's:

passport.com
passport.net
login.passport.com
login.passport.net
loginnet.passport.com
msn.com

If you dont allow msn.com you will get the url redirecting limit error.

Ebay, dunno.  Got some random tips about using a different java program, but perhaps similar fixes to hotmail might solve it too.

Try a reboot of your entire system as well, may solve it....for a bit

Others may have this same problem.  What was the solution?
