Title: Good Freeware / Opensource Games
Post by: JODY on February 23, 2005, 07:26:23 pm
How about throwing out the names of some good freeware / opensource games to play in a cab.

Has anyone else tried GL Tron located at http://www.gltron.org/ ?

First found out about it a year or two ago.

There is a bizarre sideways shooter called Tukemi fighters:

Its all polygon based - as you destry ships and they break into parts, you can grab them and they "attach" to your ship and add to your firepower. You can end up with your ship filling ship most of the screen, but then its hard to dodge stuff  ;)

what he said! and add them there if you have more.

Some of the games from the knoppix CD are mentionned in that thread, some like Space Tripper (which I have on my cab) are not free unless you're fine with just the few levels offered by the demo.
Some are not available for windows (my cab is XP based) but others like NeverPutt are available for both platforms (also on my cab)
