hello everyon :)
I am having so much problem using paintshop pro...
I am trying to make a marque image but after a while,I cant paste new layers anymore >:(.It says
"Not enough memory to complete this operation;close one or more documents or applications and try again. If this does not correct the problem, you may need to adjust your memory setting or work in a smaller document"
NOW,where exactly I change the memory setting..the image is like 81 mb in paintshop format and 138 mb on photoshop and this computer has 1.5 gb ram now WHAT EXACTLY am I doin wrong here?
SOMEBOBY HEEEEEEEELP....thanks to anyone who even tries ;) :D ;D :)

how many layers? Psp (at least version 7) had a limit to 100 layers. What OS? Sometimes the OS won't make use of all the memory it has available to it (or use it efficiently)
*shrug* just a thought...

If you are finished with the file that you cut the images from, close that file. Thats all that I can suggest.

ahh man :(
Generic answer :D..I can redo the file again but its not looking as shiny as the old file..
Anyone else?

Try merging some of the layers, once you get their contents positioned where you want them.
Also, if you have layers whose visible parts don't overlap or touch, merge those together. If you need to work on one of the parts you can then just select the portion that you need to paint, filter, etc, and cut it to a new layer. Work on thenew layer and then merge it back down if it's still seperate.
I dont use paintshop, so I dont know excclty where the memory settings are. In photoshop you can tell it to use a 'scratch disk' which allocates a swapfile for the program, in addition to normal memory. Check for options dealing with disk space or temp files

FYI, when you're editing a file with multiple layers, it actually can take up like 5-10 times as much RAM as it does on disk. That's why in Photoshop, there's a display to show the difference between file size and RAM usage (at the bottom of the screen.) I never ran out of RAM while editing my side art, but it did take a while to load and save!

Something else you might want to do, is visit the jasc.com website and download the v7.04 patch. If I recall correctly it is supposed to fix some problems with memory.
