Title: Power
Post by: Mooshoo111 on February 22, 2005, 07:01:19 pm
Hi, I'm new to this arcade stuff. I'm builiding a mame cabinet. I don't know how to power everything on it. When I bought the cab (a hypersports one), it came with the speakers, coin ops, the marquee light holder, and some old things like the old power supply etc. The marquee light has 5 wires going into a 6 wire plug. How would I power it? Also there are the small lights that go near the coin reject buttons... How would I power these also. Im looking at just using the computers PSU to power all of this. If anyone could help, that would be great.
Thanks.  ???

I dont quite know what you mean about the 5 wires into a 6 slot plug, but I know that you can mount the coin-door lights using a computer PSU.  If youre MAMEing the cabinet, and using a computer, then use a multimeter to see which wires on the marquee have the power.  Then I suggest just using a power bar of some type.  Pretty much everything can be powered through the power bar possibly using a transformer.

Ok thanks for the info. I have a couple digital multimeters hanging around for other hobbies, so I'll check the wires tomorrow.
