I have a wico 8 way microswitch joystick with the rubber grommet and I was wondering if there was a way to switch it over to a 4 way. Please let me know. Thanks.
Do the versa ball shafts fit these?

Hmm, I think the originals came with 2 different actuators so you could choose to use it as a 4 way or 8 way. Do you only have one? I'm thinking of Wico leafs with the rubber grommet but maybe it's the same for microswitches. Is the actuator cylindrical?

The only ways to switch it are to change out the body of the joystick itself for a 4-way one, or put a restrictor plate on it.
The holes in the body of the 4-way bodies are diamond shaped.
The holes in the 8-way bodies are circular.

You can make it more difficult to hit the diagonals, by using the small cynlindrical actuator, but it's not true 4-way (as per the previous post)

the wico microswitch joys only come with a square actuator.

Oops.
I missed the microswitch part, but saw the rubber grommet part.
