I was looking for where you find older versions of catvir.ini? I am running Mame .85 and recently downloaded the new catvir file from http://www.catver.com, I don't see anywhere listed on the site for older versions, and ran Mame Content Manager and still find lots of adult roms. So does it matter that I used a newer version of catvir.ini. I went throught MCM and renamed all adult games and I still have found at least 6 adults games.
Thanks,

I asked the same question here about a month back, but I never got an answer. I would like to know which adult games you found which weren't covered by catver.ini. Would you mind posting your list of missed adult games?

One, I think you are using the wrong catver.ini. Two there is no need to go older, games just get added to the ini file.
The catver you will want is the one on mameworld. www.mameworld.com/catlist or something like that.

No problem. Having a 6 year old who thinks the whole thing is cool I really did not want him coming across any adult games. The ones I found after running MCM;
Fantasia
Gumbo
Zero Zone
Fantasy 95'
Fantasia II
Chrystal Gal
That is what I have found thus far.

Thanks. These were all already flagged in my catver version 0.88. In another thread it was mentioned that catfin will sometimes find out later that a game is mature, and then update only the current catver version (instead of going back and fixing all previous versions). So because of that you may want to use the latest version of catver.
However, there is one problem I'm aware of with using a newer version of catver than your version of Mame. Sometimes rom filenames will change. When this happens the renamed rom won't be flagged by catver at all. For example in Mame 0.88 Street Fighter 1's rom name is "sf1". In later Mame versions it's simply "sf". If I use a new version of catver my sf1 rom won't be categorized.
