Title: DB15 specifications ?
Post by: Jeehemdee on October 26, 2002, 03:30:42 am
I have a joystick extension cable whose DB15 ending is to be screwed to a plexi panel. So I have to "route" the plexi panel. Here is my question ;-)

Where could I find the DB15 specifications (not the pinout etc...) I mean the specifications/dimensions of the global shape (you know..that trapezoid shape).

So that I can be perfectly routed on the plexi, and that the DB15 perfectly fit in it.

I personaly tried the ISO site (international standard organization) where I indeed found it (DB15=ISO4903):
http://www.iso.ch/iso/en/CatalogueDetailPage.CatalogueDetail?CSNUMBER=10923&ICS1=35&ICS2=100&ICS3=10
But it's about 80 swiss franc to get the PDF !!

So if by chance someone would have the info ;-)

Thanks

D-Subminiature connectors are standard over a slew of manufacturers.  The standard sizes are 9, 15, 25, 37, 50 Pin.
You can get datasheets for any of these connectors most anywhere as this is the most common connectors ever built.
Just a search on Google lists a few thousand sites on D-Sub connectors.

For starters, check:

Amphenol connectors
ITT connectors

etc...
Look under d-subminiature and you will find what you need.

Here are datasheets from NorComp, they include all standard D-Sub connectors (9, 15, 25, 37, 50 pins)...
