Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how exactly do I uprgrade my mame? right now im running version 0.87 mame32 but want to upgrade to the newest version, which i think is 92. Do I just download the new mame32 of version 92 and get a whole new rom set or is there a way of just upgrading the mame you already have? Im just confused, please help ??? ???

What I do is I just unzip the files on top of the old ones. BUT I don't know if that messes up my configurations, hiscores, etc. I guess it probably would!
As for the ROMS, just leave as is. Most of them should all work.

You could do it this way, if you have the drive space...
First off, unzip the new mame into it's directory (mame092_i686, or something like that).
Then use clrmamepro to create a dat file for that version of MAME and scan your OLD ROMS with the new DAT. You can then see what will be broken or what is missing and attempt to rebuild into the NEW ROM folder.
That's probably the best way to do it...because you keep your old ROMs intact while creating a new set.

You may download and unzip mame32 over the existing version.
