Title: Cocktail game stools/chairs?
Post by: 2PacMan on February 18, 2005, 01:42:38 pm
Anyone know where to get some cool cocktail game stools/chairs??  Seems like they need to be shorter, i measured about 20 inches high.

I was thinking about buying some wood ones from a local furniture store, but they are all alot taller.  So I guess i'd saw off some of the leg to about 20 inches.

Then i was thinking about painting them black and putting some sort of pacman graphic on the seat (it's a pacman cocktail) and then putting some kind of gloss coating over the whole thing to protect it.

What do you think?  Anyone else try this....suggestions/recommendations???

I'd check the "discount" department stores--- Target, Walmart, K-Mart, etc. I got my arcade stools from Target. Furniture stores tend to be a bit more expensive.

Places like harbor freight and various autoparts stores are also fantastic for stools.  Plus, you can usually get cool designs on them, which can fit with an arcade theme better than plain wood.

Sometimes, you can find them with wheels...which, I keep some around in my arcade, some people prefer them.

Thrift/second hand stores and antique markets are great for funky ones.

Here's a 20" stool that would be interesting...

I picked up a couple of these (http://tinyurl.com/43zph) at Target for about $15 each.  Just the right height for a cocktail.

These ones were $17 each at Eurway (kinda like an IKEA store).

I bought mine off eBay:

I wanted height-adjustable swivel stools (like the ones used for pianos), and had to search around quite a bit before I found something I liked.

I got a set of 4 padded ones with a backrest at the Slave Nation Army for $25 on 50% off Friday.  They're super comfortable.  And they're day-glo orange!

I have that same slot machine in my gameroom, jripley ;)

For my cocktail table i bought 2 office chairs, they have adjustable height, and are pretty comfortable.  They were $29 each at Wal-Mart.
