I've had serious insomnia my entire life, but we're talking days without sleep, not months. Damn that sucks for these people. That's like going to Hell while you're still in the living world. It's psychological torture to be unable to sleep for a couple days... I don't even have words to articulate how it must be for these people.

Couldn't they just induce sleep? Gas, or pills, or an injection? It seems like such an easily solved problem... :-\

You didn't read the article, did you?

I did, but not thoroughly. I suppose that was addressed.

Well, all I saw was the "pills are useless" line, but there have to be better ways to knock someone out for awhile....
'course, there probably is a reason I'm not a doctor.
But yes, that's a scary scary thing. Hell, if I don't get 6-8 in a night I feel like the next day is a haze...
...I guess that's repayment for my late teens/early twenties years of 0-4 hours of sleep a night. :P

I've been sleeping 4-5 hours a night max for 20 years.

Chad, do you have days where you just zonk out...and by zonk out, I mean you're hard down for about 6-8 hours, and a nuclear blast wouldn't wake you up? I know that's not "out" for most, but for you....I ask, because that sounds about right for me too, and my wife tells me I should do one of those sleep studies. I sleep a touch more than you, but not much, and that's what happens to me.
