Ok, way back when there was a simple game where there were two "tanks", and you would fire shots back and forth. You were able to set the angle of your gun barrel, and I think the velocity of the bullet. Then the shot would sail over to the other side and hopefully destroy the other tank. Does anyone remember what this game is, and if so, has it been mamed? Thanks in advance!

sounds like an old apple II game called artillery. Not sure if there was an arcade version.

I'll second that it sounds like artillery. I've been looking for the last 30 mins to find a screenshot, but no luck so far.

I can't think of an arcade game like that, but if you would like a KILLER PC game like that, try Scorched Earth. I used to play that damn game for HOURS.

There are tons of Artillery/Scorched Earth clones out there. Modern day versions include the Worms series by Team 17.
I can not think of an arcade game like that though. Would make a good arcade game.

There was an OLD DOS (basic) game like that. I think it was called TANK. It came free on the DOS disk before Windows had been invented.
There was also an Atari Discrete Game called Tank. Look here (http://www.mameworld.net/discrete/Atari/Atari.htm#Tank) but it's not exactly like you described. It will be a long time if ever before it gets in MAME.

There is a DOS game called King Of The Hill or KOTH. You can get it and see screen shots here (http://www.nongnu.org/koth/screenshots.html)
But the original was black screen and white lines for mountains, etc.
Hope this helps,
