IVe been thinking about getting this. has anybody tried it yet? Thanks
-
Yes,
Been playing it for the past 3 days or so.
Very playable on a cab.
Complete interface is accessed using mouse/trackball/gun and a couple of std buttons such as ESC and ENTER. Reload via right click or auto reload.
It's pretty fun.

on XBOX it is really great
figure it is just the same on PC
you'll definitely need a lightgun for full arcade experience

This is what I DISAGREE with when people talk about cabinet friendliness. The ENTER button is NOT a std button on probably 95% of the cabinets.

If you have an IPAC / JPAC / KeyWiz (shazaam), you have an enter key by default sure it is player1 and joy down (i think) done together, but your statement is far less accurate than you think. In this situation the enter key is only used bypassing the movies.
I do think more and more people are adding admin buttons or are comfortable with SHIFTed combos.
-
This is NOT true.....
They are comfortable using shifted buttons for ADMIN functions, not during gameplay. The delay and overall "unreliable-ness" of shifted keys makes it akward if you intend to use them for navigating menus, especially multi-teard ones.
And people who put useless, dedicated admin buttons on their cab build frakenpanels for the most part, and we all know how I feel about those.
I wish I wasn't so swamped...... all I can say is wait, a solution is on the way.

Again as it pertains to this game the enter key is used for bypassing cut scenes exclusively. Hence not a required button and not a required shift. I merely listed it as it can be used.

WORD! I didnt know this was on the pc! I thought only 1 and 2 were, which I have.

I forgot to mention that all of the keys are programable so you can map that enter button to your coin button etc...

Is this one controlled by the mouse like the others/hence... an act labs gun can be used like on the others?

I tried looking for this online, any one have a link to a reseller?
(I love HOTD 2 on my cab)
Sega of America's site doesn't list it, and ebgames only has the xbox version listed.

A correction.... it is controlled by the mouse/gun but by default the start button is hardcoded to the enter button which is extremely annoying as the start button does everything from start the game to exiting your game.
It is quite playable on a cab, but only after the game has started.
I find this short-sited interface design unacceptable in this day and age.... sega should know better. Take a look at fps... ALL functions are bindable.

Websites I found say it was developed by Sega Europe.
