I'm about to attempt to build some analog controls and picked up three differnet models to experiment with.
I was wondering if anyone here has ever tried to hack any of the following:
1) Logitech Dual Action Gamepad
2) MS SideWinder Dual Strike
3) Thrustmaster Phazer Pad
If so, any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Is this a worthwhile hack anymore? It seems like Dave's AKI would be a better solution, and wouldn't cost much more?

It's always more fun to hack. ;D

That reminds me.
Are there any known issues with Dave's AKI interface?
More importantly, a friend of mine said that from the MAME side there is some sort of overflow error that MAME doesn't handle well, and it's supposed to be fairly well known.
As a result, on games like Centipede/Millipede you can't
go at the fastest speed all the way across the screen.
Can anyone elaborate on this?
Thanks a lot.

Never heard of the overflow error. Wonder if he was talking about backspin when using a trackball or spinner. That can be fixed with options in the analog control section.
