Title: clrmamepro and gens roms
Post by: btoddkelley on February 15, 2005, 11:37:13 pm
I have a problem I am not sure how to solve. Jcrouse did some very nice filtering of console roms. He hand sorted the previous version of of the sega genesis roms so that only one version of each game is in the folder, with the prefered version being U.S. This folder can then be used to generate a list in mamewah that I call the "prefered list" (I then rename it to list-1 and scan the entire genesis folder to make the "labeled list" list-0)
Genesis was recently updated to version 2.05. Some of the rom extensions have changed and the list no longer works (un renamed games still launch). Is there a way to get clear mame pro to rename the the roms in the sorted forlder to the new 2.05 standard?   The folder only has 1100 roms in it so I know Clear mame pro will show that I am missing ~4000 roms. this is not a big deal, I just need to rename the sorted ones.

Thanks
Todd

Personallly I use Good GUI along with the Good Tools. Once setup tou can rename ALL roms and also sort into directories based on region/type etc. So I just dump all my roms to a directory, run Good GUI and tell it to sort into separate directories. I then copy the (U) roms into my cab. That way I don't need to store unneeded roms on my cab and I don't have to worry about custom or filtered lists. I've done this for all my emulators btw.
