My cp will be changing in order to accomodate a new trackball and spinner.

...can I put the balltop and the player 1 stick on the same connections on the Ipac 2?
That's the way it's generally done. The 4way shares connections with the player 1 8way.

I dont know anything about the dedicated 4 way, but I know that, as Stingray said, that's how you do it. When you attach the wires to an iPac 2, you set both joysticks up as Player 1 Up, Down, etc. This way, whichever joystick you use will send it an UP signal basically.

Good to hear--I'm not an electronics expert by any stretch, so I'm always careful not to assume.

One issue that's being brought up alot is the joystick right above the trackball if you plan on using it alot. Apparently, this is uncomfortable for smaller panels, so beware. I will also use DB25's when I build my panel because I know someone who works at FutureShop, and well, deals :)

Uncomfortable on the part of actually reaching the 4-way or uncomfortable when you do a schwarzeneggarian upwards spin on the trackball and snap a finger bone against the 4 way's shaft? :)

I won't say for sure what Cholin was saying, but in my opinion that is not a great set up for the "schwarzeneggarian" tball moves, especially with v0.92 and all the Golden Tee's...you might want to reconsider...at least give it a thought.

I would love to see a picture of it designed or when your done.
For the Ipac. you just plug both wires into the same screw and its ok?

I was talking about the trackball, as IMMark confirmed. If you look at some peoples' regrets list, they usually mention putting the trackball in a crappy place. Just beware.
