this prob sounds like a simple thing for most of you but im not that familar with how this could be done i dont want to ruin the cubes wires by trying it without alittle input from you guys ive done some wireing on my cab so just alittle direction would be great thanks -tommy-

You can do this 2 ways, you can either buy a SCART/RGB cable and hack that to your monitor using an LM1881 circuit. Or you can buy a component transcoder (I highly recommend the VD-Z3 transcoder by VDigi as its compatible with all consoles) and use it to transcode the 480i signal to 15khz rgb. The cool part with the transcoder is that it will also allow you to convert 480P high def signals to your arcade monitor if it supports 31.5khz (like the Betson Imperial or WG D9200 monitors).

i was thinking i could just cut the cable that produces the video signal on the gamecube and wire it to the monitor can this be done like that

In laymans terms, maybe. Depends on the "wire"...if its a SCART/RGB wire (like I said in my previous post) then yes, but with the help of an LM1881 circuit.
If you mean trying to hookup a composite signal (the yellow wire that goes to your TV), then nope. At least not without the help of some other composite->rgb converter.

thanks for trying to help dave, but some of this termanology is wasted on me the only solution is to have someone do it for me if you know of such a person i would pay for there time and effert thanks again

What is this LM1881 circuit for?
Back in the mid-90's I hooked up a SNES to an arcade monitor through a SCART cable. No other circuits required. If I remember correctly, I had to combine 2 sync wires together since the arcade monitor only had 1 sync input.

A scart cable does not contain sync, but it does contain composite video (which scart TV's use as sync). Most arcade monitors will not sync using composite video. You use the LM1881 circuit to strip sync from the composite video line.

Well, all I know is I had an arcade cab with an arcade monitor, bought in america...
The SNES was a US SNES.
The SCART cable came from ??? (japan or europe--I don't remember)
And I hooked it all up without any additional circuits.

You need to bridge the sync and ground with a 100 ohm resistor.
