Post by: DrewKaree on February 14, 2005, 01:25:29 pm
In case you're a dolt, and you're scrambling for something last-minute to tell the woman you love "hey baby, I forgot it was Valentine's Day, but I still want to keep my "priveledges", if you know what I mean" (insert martini music here), just click this link http://216.55.105.104/cgi-script/CSMailto/forms/valentine.htm (http://216.55.105.104/cgi-script/CSMailto/forms/valentine.htm) and fill in the blanks to generate your very own "Couple Of The Year" Award to give to your Valentine today!

Imagine the look on her face when she sees that your love has been expressed in this fashion, and that nationwide it is now known just how much she means to you!

Happy Valentine's day!

For the first time ever, I actually remembered and the wifey forgot. I'm thinking this is like a relationship get out of jail free card the next time I screw up (shouldn't take long). :)

I'm taking her to a restaurant called Cuchi Cuchi and reserved some roses for her. Sounds romantical enough to me.

Why is it always candy, flowers & dinner?  Too predictable.

Try bacon.

Damn! I wish someone mentioned bacon last week.
I went out and blew $89 on flowers (one dozen extremely overpriced roses) and $143 on dinner at a swanky restaraunt (worth every penny, but they had no bacon based dishes).

Next year I'm just going to get a pound of bacon. I could fry up some of it all nice and crispy, then sprinkle it all over our bedroom. Mmmm-mmm-mmm! Saucey!  ;)

Myself and my blonder half stayed at home and cooked a meal this year. We're saving for our holiday in April, plus valentines night is always a nightmare here in Dublin. The restauraunts rush you to free up your table, taxis are scarse and you can't chill out and enjoy the evening anyway.

Card each, small pressie and a big oriental meal with loads of alcohol.

Sorted.

What's Dublin's problem with Taxi's? I haven't been back in years, but wasn't the Luas supposed to take care of traffic problems and allow for more taxis? All I've heard about the Luas is that it hit a pedestrian on its first day of operation. Ha!

editOh, and you're not allowed to say oriental anymore. It's asian.

Yep, the LUAS has been a disaster. In true Irish style it cost over twice as much to build 25 miles of tramline as it did for NASA to put the lander on mars (fact). People have been killed from bicycle wheels getting caught in the tracks or wheels sliding from under them (including my mates little brother, who had twin girls.) Theres always collisions which effectively bring one of the two lines to a standstill temporarily. Its a shambles.

We were originally supposed to have a metro, which would have cleared a lot of the traffic and improved the quality of commuters lives no end. But why do something sensible like that when you can build a tram system which looks nice for the tourists.

BTW the LUAS doesn't serve where I am. You would still have to get a taxi to it or when you get off it. Great fun!

Apologies to our asian friends. Still all right to call them orientals and chinese where I am though. Great race and make excellent neighbours too.
