Title: LED ? - does this sound right?
Post by: Paladin on February 11, 2005, 08:11:26 pm
I love the job Knievel did on his neon cab, and I want to try something similar.  I have ordered some LED's with resistors from ebay to use with translucent buttons, but I also want to power my Atari LED cone start buttons from the same 12V line so they are always lit as well.

As far as I can tell, all I have to do is use the resistors that come with the ebay LED's for the buttons - and then use a 1k resistor for each of the Atari buttons.  This is based on several posts that mention using a 330 Ohm resistor when powering Atari LED's with a 5V supply.

Does this sound right?  The last thing I want to do is melt one of my precious Atari LED's.

Sounds really close. I'd go with 470 ohms.
