I bowled a 300 today in World Class Bowling. I called My wife I was so excited and she was trilled(sarcasim). Has anybody else bowled a 300?
:D ;D :D ;D :D

upper 200's is my best! congrats on 300!
-
Friggen neet! I think my top score was 256. Congrats.
-
I got a 289, and an 837 series, but that was in real life....does that count?

That blows a 300 out of the water on a video game. 289 in real life? Now thats crazy

My flippin' future ex-wife felt the need to go tell the owner of the alley and didn't understand the concept of shutting her big fat piehole so as not to add pressure, and I can hear her telling everyone "he hasn't missed yet", which you could tell by looking at the overhead, which she could have easily POINTED to, instead of .... well, at least she's my EX-wife now!
Nice ringing 10-pin on my second ball in the tenth frame, and that spare ball was the hardest shot I had all day!
That was the same series, as well. It was like they cut a groove in the lane for my ball...I won every poker hand due to sheer quantity of cards, and the drinking afterwards was one of the better celebrations I've been able to recall.
Now hitting a good curve-ball (or a baseball in general) THAT'S hard!

My 300 in WCB was a bit more anti-climatic. I had just discovered the game a couple days ago, and my wife seemed to like it quite a bit. She had the two highest scores which were in the 250's. Then I started it up a couple nights later and got a 300. I was actually sort of saddened to inform her that her scores were beating, and by a score she could only hope to tie with a perfect game.
She didn't play as much after that.
It took me weeks just to even get into the 250's after that game. It was a total fluke. Maybe my wife will play again with a fresh start in WCB Delux!
As for RL bowling, nice games Drew! Why would someone go out of their way to announce that you're on a roll? Women... Do they not understand the nature of the beast?
Anyway, I'm a complete hack, but I once had a game where I had 7 strikes in a row. That game started with two open frames and I finished with a 229. I don't think I'll ever beat that.
The only other time I got over 200 was when I arrived at the alley right as it was closing, and my wife and I only got one game in. I bowled a 201. This was in September and it was the first time we'd bowled that year. I refused to bowl for the rest of the year to maintain my 201 average!

LOL Sandbagger! Just don't teach your wife how to reset the high scores!
I used to bowl TONS when I was younger...know a bunch of DYNAMITE bowlers that put me to shame...a few alley owners....I've got a few friends who have quite a few sanctioned 300's, and watching them practice just humbles the hell out of you! I've seen them in PRACTICE rolling 900 series, and I sit there and wonder (not out loud, I'm not a friggen WOMAN, after all!) when they'll miss! Best I ever saw was an owner friend of mine (Marty Sanfelippo - he's got a few sanctioned ones too, check 'im out on the ABC records) roll ~6 1/2 games before he missed, picked it up, and finished out that game and two more without a miss!
Bowling is what us Golfers in WI do during the winter! ;D

There is a certain mark on WCB that I stand, with the curve set one step to the left, that I can throw 300 after 300. I like to sucker players in with a crappy first game, build their confidence up, then roll the 300.

Holy crap.
So is the what separates the top pros from these guys is the fact that they can adapt best to differing lane conditions? Is the pressure a big factor? I sometimes hear stories like this and I always think, "I never see the pros do this!"
Then again, I watch bowling on TV about once every other year, but the question still stands.
As for WCB and zaphond's "at will" 300's, I think this calls for some more experimentation on my part.

A lot of it is desire and the willingness to put up with the hassles of "being on tour"...guys like this will play in big sweeper tournaments - you also gotta realize that he OWNS the lanes he was doing this on, and although he's STILL a dynaminte bowler, it's the same for him to go somewhere as what you see for the pros on TV.
The MAIN reason you don't see many televised 300's are the heat generated from the lighting changes the lane conditions up to 4 times within the same game! And now, with the "stadium" format they're going to, the humidity from these outdoor/large-air stadium setups makes the ball react differently...WAY too many things.
You or I would be LUCKY to break 200 under the same conditions...in fact, you'll see some of the earlier rounds where guys are throwing 170's-180's.
I've been to Pete Webber Sr's alleys and house - these guys are as good as they are because they practice non-stop. It's JUST like a job to them...they practice 6-8 or more hours a day...in Webber's basement, he's got a 5 lane setup - guy had the whole area soundproofed because when he's got a hard time sleeping, he said he'd go throw a few games to relax and wind down, and he'd be out like a light!
His kid, though, was a first-class jag to me and the rest of the group I was with - to the extent that his dad made it a point to tell him to knock it off and leave...come back when his period was done. I've never had the same sense of satisfaction at seeing a parent discipline their kid (and rightly so). I also had a whole new respect for Sr as a person, as well as a bowler.
What is this "place" you speak of, or is that revealing a "trade secret" that might make it back to the rubes you sucker in?
-
What skill level did you have the machine on? The default level?
I've never broken 210 on mine, but I have the skill level cranked up several notches. My 10-year old daughter did pick up a 7-10 split, though...

Sounds like it's time to clear the scores and crank it up, then... :)

Dick Weber is the father and he's all class, while his son Pete is a jerk.
Sadly, Dick Weber died a couple of months ago.
I have four 300 games on World Class Bowling, and one real sanctioned 300 game. My next goal is to shoot an 800 like DrewKaree :)

THAT'S friggen awesome! Congrats on that game! Do you still bowl a lot or is it just a once in a while thing?
Oh, and for the record, I've never come CLOSE to approaching that series before or since. I had the one "career day". Best OTHER series wasn't even close, low 700's, and I was gruntin' to get that!

THAT'S friggen awesome!

Id be lucky to bowl a 180 in real life. 300 is just way to much, you got some mad skills.
-
My best is like a 230-something. i think it was 237. my second best is like a 145. I don't know what happend that one time, probobly won't do it again eiather.

Shape D, you should have your passport to live in WI revoked, man! I thought it was a law in WI that you know how to bowl, drink like a fish, and think when it hits -20o that it's time to throw on a windbreaker!
You're just embarrassing me more and more....first the Capitol Amber fiasco, then the frogs, now this? I may have to make that road trip just to beat some sense into you, bro ;)
-
I can bowl about a 110 on a good day in real life.
