I have many 13" WGE 1372- HOTS82K CGA standard resolution color monitors that I am having a problem with and I hope you can help me fix them. I have about 6 or 7 of them that when I 'power up' at the start of the day, they do not go on. After leaving the game switch on for 5 minutes, I shut the game off, turn it back on, and the monitor usually goes on. Sometimes I need to re-power 'on' several times before the monitor finally goes on. A list of troubleshooting points (cold solders, parts replacement, adjustments, etc.), probable causes, and fixes would be appreciated.

Call the parts department at Wells-Gardner (1-800-336-6630 or 708-290-2100) and order capacitor service kit # S-KIT CAP K72. If you have the later "Rev A" model there's a different kit: S-KIT CAP 72A. I think you probably have the regular model (the first one I listed).
Your problem is likely from some electrolytic capacitors drying out/changing value which can indeed cause startup problems. Take a close look at the solder side of the main board for bad solder particularly around the flyback and horizontal output transistor.
I believe installing the above capacitor kit should fix your monitors and I think Wells sells them for around $10 a kit (1 kit per monitor).

Also, Randy Fromm (www.randyfromm.com) has an excellent troubleshooting section. Click on his Tech dept -> monitors -> flowcharts -> k7201.
