Title: Groovy Game Gear Translucents?
Post by: Stingray on February 08, 2005, 02:35:12 pm
Rather than dig up the Robotron thread where this was originally posted I decided to just start a new thread. Wondering if you have a date when these will be available yet, Randy.

My MVS wants a set of translucent ball tops badly. :)

Suddnly there's all these choices..  SlikStik or GroovyGameGear's Stainless or Anodized, and now Tom's transulcents are back.  Too cool!  If only I could decide...

Just so you know.......

GroovyGameGear will have translucents on the site in the next day or so.

Red, Blue, Yellow and Green :)

Sorry this is taking so long.  I have a very limited stock of finished parts as the machinist is taking way longer than expected to  drill and tap the balls.

But I thought the picture might give you an idea of what's coming :)

(I'll try to have some available on the site by this weekend)

I hope I am assuming correctly that these will fit the same sticks as his current Versa-Ball line.

As Stingray surmised, they are made for the VersaBall shafts.

I haven't talked about pricing on these yet, but they will be few bucks more than the stock ball types due to the special fabrication required to offer these.

I believe JODY get em from Tom at Specialty Plastics. He's been making them for quite a while. He just doesn't display the translucent ones on his website for some reason but he does have em. JODY, if I'm wrong about where you got them then please correct me.

I don't know, it sounds like JODY picked them up at GGG, unless the response to my question here was only re: the sticks themselves and not the balltops

Some handles for the super and competition sticks work in the reunion stick.

You're wrong   :police:

In fact, I'd put the VersaBall Translucents above anything anyone might have seen out there already.  The polish, precision,  depth of color and  clarity  are absolutely astounding.

Ok, these will be on the webstore by the end of the day.  I have a VERY limited stock of finished parts, but I'm hoping the machinist drops by mid-week with a couple dozen more..

Sorry it's taking so long.   :(

Looks like some of you guys must have stayed up all night.  I slept so just now replying.

I just sent Randy an email asking about them and he was nice enough to reply back with ordering instructions.
