I was headed off to get a dolly to load in a free NeoGeo cab I picked up and what do I see by the roadside?
-
Nice find!
What sort of sick bastard just puts classics like this outside to rot. :'(

Absolutely unbelievable, I've never even seen an original Galaxian cab in New Zealand ( I don't think there ever were any ). The fact they left it out in the rain, I just want to cry.

You must have pleased the arcade gods recently, with the sudden storm of free cabs, monitors, and now a complete Galaxian that have somehow landed in your lap.
Congrats, and I hope the wife understands... ;)

LOL!
How bad is the water damage? Galaxian's are made of ply, thankfully, so it might dry out okay.
Even if it doesn't, you can trim the bottom wood, replace it, and paint it. Might be a little tricky with the vinyl covering the sides, though.

Awesome.

I have made this offer to someone interested in the cab and want tomake it availablehere as well. Offer ends Thursday -
I think I could get between $70 - $120 (did not include the monitor, wiring harness, marquee light, power supply) if I parted it out and ebay'ed the whole thing. (quick estimates based on other completed items in similar condition).
Let me ask you this, do you need the power supply? (I did not add that in my estimates as it appears they go for a couple of dollars). Also, do you need / want the marquee? It is in poor condition, but I would not mind throwing it up on my wall, if not no big deal. I could use the power supply for future testing purposes on other monitors I have for sale, but that is not a deal-killer.
Anyway, I am thinking that if you want the cab, minus the marquee and power supply, and can come get it this week before Sat, I would let you have it for $50 even. If you just need the internals (marquee light, wiring harness, cp harness, boards, monitor) you can ebay the coindoor and cp and probably get that back with a little to spare.
If I hang onto it through Sat I will part it out then and put the lot on ebay. It is in a time-sensitive location hence the lowball offer.

Put it on RGVAC....it'll be gone in no time.

The parting out has begun.

Just tested the game, it works all the way. Needed a new fuse and the daughter board was hanging out a bit.
Anyone know what a Galaxian PCB is worth?

Also,
For anyone either rebuilding one of these or building from scratch, I took detailed pics during the disassembly in the event you need to know where some bracket or instruction card goes. Just email me for high res pics.
