Should there be a gap between the glass and the bezel? If so, how much? I have be looking at some old pics but can not tell.

Sure.

This is kind of like asking "how long is a piece of string".

6 inches.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. My string is clearly too long, I'll be posting my mods in the project announcement forum. ;)

Yes spystyle you did finally get it. I was just wandering if there was a common distance that people used. I am mounting a 27inch monitor in a cab made for a 25 inch monitor so once I get the thing in there I am not going to be moving it around much.

I can dig it :)
Pictures always help to explain things, as it can be difficult to use the terminology everyone will recognise.
As for the gap...
You are the artist, that is your canvas, if you think it looks good with X distance then you are correct. If you want opinions on your work, finish it, then post pictures asking specific questions.
I have seen cabs with the glass bezel flush against the monitor bezel, and I have seen cabs where the glass bezel was at one angle and the monitor and bezel were at a different angle, so they were only flush at the very bottom.
Groovy?

I left no gap between front glass and monitor bezel.
I based this primarily on wanting to minimize dust collecting in between the two over time necessitating removal of same in order to clean it.

Exactly, there is no "standard" distance. I have one cab that has the plexi pretty much flush against the bezel, and another with a three or four inch gap.

Thanks everyone for the input. I will post some pics when I get it mounted.

Just one consideration... The more flush it is, the less dust can get in there.
