Ok, I'm having a problem with a couple of my MAME games since I switched to a new computer. I picked up a cheap AMD 1600 machine from Fry's to replace my Celeron 600. I put XP Pro on it and lots of things work much better including some lock up problems I was having with MameWah and how my encoder would mysteriously stop working until I rebooted the pc. I digress...
Anyway, now things work great except for a few games I have come across don't appear to have any video display, but I know the game is playing because of the sounds. The two I have noticed are Tron and Toobin', but I have a feeling there are probably more. Any suggestions as to what might be causing this problem? These games were working properly before the computer swap and I copied most files from one machine to the other across a network.
Thanks.

I imagine its a particular video resolution that mame is displaying that your new video card/drivers/monitor can not display. Try running those games but force a particular resolution and see if that works.....

Ive had that happen and its your hertz setting in your monitor settings in windows. Maybe you should change it from 70 to 60. That solved my mame mystery.

Also.. if your video card is cheap or you have something odd running in the background, mame's d3d/dd window may be failing on you.
When they first switched over to dx7 this was a common bug, but I haven't seen it since.

Well no luck after changing refresh rate. I tried all available setting (54 - 85Hz). I'm using the on-board video card which I'm sure is about as cheap as you can get. Maybe I'll try to find a new card and see if that makes a difference. For now, no Toobin' for me. :'(
