Is this a "I need an expert to come visit" or could you describe the problem?

The k7000 series used 5 different vertical deflection IC chips over the course of the production run. Randy Fromm's site (www.randyfromm.com) on his technical dept page under Monitors -> Which Chip Is Which explains the differences and what chips are supposed to go with what version.

Before declaring the vertical IC bad though be sure to test or replace tantalum electrolytic capacitor C51 (behind the "50/60 Hz trimpot") first as this cap is now failing alot and is NOT included in the capkits (it should be IMO). The value of C51 is critical and when it drifts off value slightly will cause vertical height distortions or stretch/squash problems. If the cap goes completely open circuit (or near open circuit) you will lose all vertical deflection.

See also www.jstookey.com/arcade/WG_25k7191/  for more information on the 71xx series of monitors.

there is a firm in bury, lancashire that do monitor repairs - http://www.ccc-uk.com/index.htm.

haven't used them so can't recommend but if you're anywhere near, might be worth dropping them a mail.
