I have a 28" hantarex mtc9000 out of an old operation thunderbolt game. as this was a shooter, the monitor was originally mounted horizontally and viewed with a mirror. I plan on mounting the monitor for direct viewing but can't figure out how to correct the video signal (it displays reversed)
I know this shouldn't be hard, can anyone help?
please?!?!???

What do you mean it displays reversed ? Do you mean the original game Operation Thunderbolt ? You trying to view it direct, or you trying to do with MAME ?

Originally, the monitor was mounted horizontally and viewed with a mirror.
Because of this, it was configured to display everything reversed (so that to the player the text would be legible).
Now, I have the monitor mounted vertically (direct-view, no mirror) and I have to figure out how to un-reverse the video signal.
Yes, I'm using mame (advmame); but this is definately a monitor hardware-thing (I have a streetfighterII board here, when plugged in that displays reversed as well)
If possible, I would like to make the monitor display correctly.
I know that advmenu has a "mirror" option, but I cannot find a similar setting for advmame, so while I can get the frontend to display properly, any games launched are 'reversed'.
once again, I would be gratefull for any help (at all!)

for historical purposes, and curiousity, and the odd chance some one else will have this problem in the future... what was the solution?

Sounds like you needed to just swap the yoke wires around.
Red+Blue, Green+Yellow
Flip them both(red on blue, blue on red, green on yellow, yellow on green) and you essentially rotate the monitor 180 degrees.
If you're only experiencing a "mirror" image, then you just swap one of the 2, depending on the axis it's mirrored.
Red/Blue = Horizontal (widest measurement of screen)
Green/Yellow = Vertical (shortest measurement of screen)

yup, just switch the pairs around as needed. I needed to swap both pairs

same thing with those 19" Eygos that were on ebay (I have one).
