Hey there,
I'm attempting to add a headphone jack to my cabinet. I already tried wiring it in on the input side of the amp (car audio) I'm using, but the sound came through very weak even when the volume was maxed out.
This leads me to my question - If I wire the jack into the output side of the amp, will I need to place resisitors in line with the positive soeaker wire for each channel? The reason I ask is that I noticed the max power input on my headphones in 100 mW. The amp I have in my cabinet will push 80W rms max.
Anyone have some advice?

Perhaps a 2nd amp for headphones...
Another though is maybe a high resistance potentiometer will reduce volume enough.

I already have a 100k pot installed on the input side of the amp (per Oscar's tutorial). Think that will do it?

Input side of amp, you mean unamplified side? Hence why it is weak?
You need to run it through sometype of amp. There's tons of headphone amps out there. If you want to make your own.
I just made a headphone amp for my bass guitar with this circuit. Now, to do it for stereo just duplicate the circuit for left and right.

Thanks for the input! It's much appreciated. I think the the headphone amp is the way to go.
It's midnight and my wife and I are listening to music on the cabinet. I really couldn't have gotten it all done without the knowledge of the members of this community. You guys are great!
