Comix Zone was/is great.
It actually gets A LOT of play on my arcade cab. Being that is the primary place I have played it, I completely forgot it was a genesis game. lol
-
Aleluia!
A thread in wich i can participate! :)
I'm currently playing a genesis game called King's Bounty wich isn't very good graphically but it's very adictive because it's a old-school strategy game. I think you guys should try it on really. It's Warcrafts grandfather. :D
-
I used to play King's Bounty all the time on my old 286 PC. I never even knew it was on Genesis.
-
Sega Genesis is my favoritw console of all time, and I have Gens on my cab, which runs every sega game, a dream come true! Best games are..
Sonic 1 and 2
Dick Tracy
BattleToads
The Incredible Hulk
some of you may have never played those last 3, very fun, give them a try.
-
Castle Of Illusion was phat, for a mickey mouse game

What was that Konami game with the rodent? Sparkster??
-
What was that Konami game with the rodent? Sparkster??
That was Rocket Knight Adventures, and it had a sequel, named for the title character, Sparkster.

Gotta love the days way back when.
SNES and Genesis were truly a golden age in gaming. Games could still be put together by a small number of people, so there were more seperate pools of creativity, offering up more great games.
Now games require sooooooo much money and manpower. Now all those small pools of creativity are grouped together in massive groups, all making one game instead of 50. We still get the great games, but it sure won't be as overwhelming a number as is rushing through my head right now about the Genesis. :)
-

Before internet I used to call the Sega Hot Line and ask for codes when I couldn't get passed a part or when I just wanted to cheat....what a loser.
Some other games mentioned I forgot about
Alladin
Mickey Mania
Ecco The Dolphin (hard as hell though)
Super Monaco GP
EDIT: Toe Jam & Earl (the first one, not 2), this game kicks ass.
-
^^ Oh yeah, forgot about Toejam and Earl.
Did you ever go into the 'sound test' in the options area? That was the best, you could just play all the sound files. "Toejam!!" "Biiiggg Earl!"

No joke, my whole 10th birthday party consisted of that sound options in Toe Jam & Earl

Hell yeah.. I always tried to re-do the beats in the game!, and usually came pretty close w/ the 6 button, but the response time wasn't always good enough to get the quick bass drum beats in.
-
My favorite games:
NHLPA 93'
Flashback- I can't believe no one mentioned this game already. It was one of my favorite games of all time...any system
-
Well, scrolling down the list I saw very little mention of the Sonic series! There is a few like minded individuals, but not enough! ;D
LONG LIVE SONIC! What was that?
No, I was never a fanboy!
Nintendo?!
---display unending love for my bottom---! Sonic rocks, Mario blows!
(damn those voices in my head, will the playground never let me alone!?!)
-
I see road rash but not road rash2
thats better I think.
doon is great I play it all day..
risk ( I think I allready said that one)
-
One of the games I played most often was Bill Walsh's College Football ( I think thats what it was called)
I don't even like football games now, but man I used to love that one.
The game came with card that had the stats of all the players. One day I found the player with the highest speed stat. So I always played with that team. He was the defensive end for pitt. (I think) I would get so many sacks with him, and then whenever they would punt I'd line up in normal defense and send him back to return, I ran a few back with him because of that.
Good times. Good times.

EARTHWORM JIM
Gunstar Heroes deserves another mention
Mick & Mac, Global Gladiators (hey, try it!)
Alien Soldier
Star Control
Cannon Fodder (also on SNES, Gameboy)
-
I always hated the Genesis.
That said... Gunstar Heroes is amazing (but hard!)
-
All of the STRIKE games
-Desert Strike
-Urban Strike
-Jungle Strike
-General Chaos, best strategy game on Genesis.
- all sonic games.
-
My favorites were Evander Holyfield Boxing, Mickey's Castle of Illusion, and an obscure game I picked up out of curiosity. It's called Boogerman. Extremely fun side-scroller full of booger-flicken, gas belchin', bend over and fart at your enemies fun! I had to hide it when my son started playing video games, and now all I can find is the empty box. I have a feeling that the wifie knows where it is...
