Title: ATI - Component Video to Standard TV (US)
Post by: MrKState on January 24, 2005, 06:22:23 pm
Been all over this board and the avsforum trying to find the information that SuckerFish references about setting up an ATI video card (9200SE - 256 MB with DVI Out) using a DVI-Component Video adapter.

I have loaded the latest Catalyst Drivers (5.1) and the latest PowerStrip - however - still cannot get the scan rate right - nor can I get the powerstrip advance settings to work.  Tried setting to the arcade setting - however - it does not seem to take effect.

Is it possible that I am mistaken about the clarity of the video using component in?   Is the video in XP will be crappy and the video in MAME is very good?

Seems like when I adjust the scan rates - I get to a point where no video at all will work - then I have to take the PC out of the cabinet and re-attach to my network to reset the video.

Seems like I'm very close to the getting the terrific video that people talk about - just close - yet no cigar.

Using a JVC AV27530 27" set in my cabinet.

Please - SuckerFish - show me the light ...  I have been looking for over a week for the right thread.

Found the very long thread in the avforum - just cannot sift thru all the details to get the right settings.

Thanks again for the assistance.

Finally found it ..

Buried in a post - none the less - found the settings.

Currently in Ireland - when I get back to the US - I'll try the settings.

SuckerFish - any other items that we (others trying to obtain component video bliss) need to take into account?

Thanks in advance....

More questions -

What is the monitor setting for your enviroment?

Mine is set to Default Monitor - in the display properties?

Did you make ANY changes in the ATI Catalyst settings?

Thanks again
