How about mapping it to a DOS command to wipe your C drive, kinda creates some real danger.
Make sure it has a timer and is hooked up to an intercom/speaker. Gotta have a countdown. "T minus 3 sec to detonation **SIREN** **SIREN** T minus 2 sec..."

True, true LOL. That would really make it. You'll need to get at least one of those horn shaped speakers for it.
For when the ROM police come knockin' ? Make sure it has a timer and is hooked up to an intercom/speaker. Gotta have a countdown. "T minus 3 sec to detonation **SIREN** **SIREN** T minus 2 sec..."
Better yet, hook it up to a battery and line your hard drive with Thermite. Of course add all the sound effects and you should get a nice little display of destruction :)
Sasquatch,D'oh, I didn't even see that thread. Now I'm gonna have to build this thing huh? :)
Yes, the parts are available from Mouser, as I mentioned in this thread (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,30718.0.html)
I am thinking of incorporating something like it as the power switch for my cab. The locking key would be handy when I don't want the neighbor kids from messing wih the PC.
PS. How was the snow down by you?
The big red button is often identified amongst electrical wholesalers as an "emergency stop" button if anybody is serious about building one!
They are big and bright so it can be punched in a hurry. (As opposed to fiddling with a volcano button while your workmate gets dragged into a packaging machine...)
