I purchased an old Rastan cabinet with a bad monitor about a month ago.
-
Make sure the monitor will work without the colours going beserk at that angle.
-
Make a shelf for it to rest on and a couple struts to hold the top and bottom in place and you should be sound as a pound!
-
Also, that isn't a Rastan cabinet it is a Scramble cabinet!
-
Wow, I didn't even realize that but sure enough this is an old Scramble cabinet. I am very impressed, paigeoliver. Nice catch! Thanks. That might have some bearing on how I decide to proceed with this project.
Back to the monitor issue, if anyone has every done this before, could you point me to some pictures or schematics somewhere so I can learn how to build something to keep this monitor in place? Thanks again.

Why don't you use the original arcade monitor?
-
The original monitor was broken when I got the cabinet. I'm going to start with this old computer monitor I have, then when I get the $$, I will put in a hybrid arcade monitor.
-
Rastan Rocks! :D
-
Broken as in 'the tube is vented' broken or broken as in 'it doesn't do anything' broken?
-
Broken as in nothing works. The monitor is old and has some other game burned into it, so I don't want to use it anyway. I plan on getting a hybrid at some point, but I want to try and use this computer monitor first.
