Title: Capacitor question
Post by: GuinnessGuy74 on January 20, 2005, 04:09:22 pm
I am trying to identify this capacitor:

MYR .022 10% 50v

What type is it? I have never seen MYR before, I am assuming the R stands for radial?

Thanks,
Jim

MYR is an abbreviation for mylar (a.k.a. polyester or metal film). Radio Shack # 272-1066 will work.

Thanks Ken, I figured it was a mylar, but wanted to be sure! I didn't want to "assume" and then blow the monitor up. I wound up not needing it anyway, since it was soldered directly between pins on the IC. I didn't see it on the component side and thought it might have broken off because I saw some solder coming through the hole!

Thanks, Jim
