I've been trying to set up Lazarus and I've gotten as far as parsing the Mame dat file, but when it goes to check for the ROMS it stops at the "Checking Vdir: 0" screen and then I get a "Runtime Error 76 - Path Not Found".
Howard has been coming up with some suggestions in another thread (which I appreciate), but I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if so, what they did to solve it.
I have checked and rechecked my dirs.ini file to verify that the ROM paths listed exists and contains the roms. Howard did confirm that this error is related to the ROMs path.
FWIW, I am running Win98.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I couldnt get it going either. But I have to run Arcadeos since I have an arcade monitor. Hopefully I can figure it out in time for Andy's arcade video card.

I'm having the exact same problem. I've checked all my paths multiple times and still can't get it to work. ???

What OS were you guys using? Maybe there is a common problem?
I'm using Win98 (the first edition) on both computers that had this problem.

Well that might be part of your problem although I doubt it. I only check compatability for 98se and above. 98 is missing a lot of stuff as is 95 and anything before it. It will run on it, you just have to download a butt-load of stuff which I don't include.

I'm running Windows 2000, SP3, with MAME and Lazarus on drive D. Tried Lazarus on drive C, but MAME still on D.

Just a quick update....
I downloaded Lazarus 4.0, and after doing some work to get it installed, it *does* recognize the VDirs on my Win 98 (first edition) machine.
So, if you could never get 3.0 to run, give 4.0 a try.
Now if I can just get my marquees to show up, but I am pretty sure that is user error :)
