Thats real helpful.
I read that just prior to posting. I have done a search and couldnt find anything on the problem, maybe I 'just dont get it', but I've only been into this for about a month so am only new. Maybe it's a stupid newbie question but I cant find an answer and what else is a forum for??

I am playing Cabal on my mame cabinet and I cannot get my guy to roll during the game. The first 2 buttons work fine, but the 3 button seems to do nothing. The button does work in other games.

The original arcade game used a trackball and two buttons per player.  To roll, you spun the TB quickly in a down diagonal; To jump-dive-roll you spun quickly in an up diagonal.

The cfg file also seems to only mention button 1 and 2. Is there something I need to do to enable the third button control??

You need to play the bootleg version.  Like other bootlegs, this is a hack of the original game that was found in the arcades; in this case the modification was to play with 8-way joysticks.  The extra button was needed to keep the rolls in the game.  Again, like many other bootlegs, something was broken in the modification; in this case the sound was busted.

IMO, the non-bootleg TB version play is much better.

I appreciate your help, I'll give the bootlkeg a go as I dont have a trackball.  I am tempted to ask where to get a copy just to stir, but I wont.
Thanks again.
