I bought a set of these of these for my cabinet project, and I'm quite pleased for the price. (I just ordered another set as well, not sure why other than I can't resist a good deal ;D )

(Note - you will need to buy a separate cable to connect to your PC, this set has RCA inputs and a 3.5mm input socket)

I have those on my MAME cab. I mounted the speakers on top. They are cool.

I forgot to mention also that the volume/power switch is on a wired remote, that also has headphone jacks. This makes access from the outside of the cabinet possible 8)
-
Another one here with the same set. Great price for them and they do work well, the wired remote is a great feature.
-
Does anybody know how long the wired remote is? I'm thinking of using them someplace, but the remote would need to be long. Thanks.
-
well im sure youd be able to extend it, its probably just 2 wires going to a pot

I have these, I mounted the speaker grilles on the outside of my cabinet and mounted the speakers on the inside... they look really good, I think. Also, they have 2 headphone jacks on the wired remote so 2 people can play mortal kombat all night without waking up the whole house...

Are those hangers for hanging plates from the wall (holding your speakers)??
Awesome.

Finally couldn't resist. 2 more sets for my "parts" box.

Got 'em in my cab too, they were a good deal at $40, great for $19.95 shipped!
Mine are mounted similar to xcalibur's, I just left the grilles off and drilled holes in the wood instead, I didn't want them to show. My subwoofer is on the floor beside the cab and the wired remote reaches the top of the cab and hangs over the marquee just enough to be useful but unobtrusive, about 6-7 ft. Get these for a good sounding economical sound system. ARCADIAC!

Absolutely... ;D
My Brother and I were standing in the hardware isle at Home Depot wondering how we were gonna attach them. I origionally planned on that metal stip stuff witht he holes in it, since they wern't gonna show... as we were leaving, I saw the plate holders and BANG, the tension from the springs would hold the speakers in place... ;D

The wire on the wired romote is about 10 feet long. Rewiring would probably not be trivial, since besides volume there are two headphone jacks and three bass select buttons...

any chance of getting a close up shot of the remote?
thanks

Here you go.
I've also attached a shot showing how mine are mounted...I used a scrap piece of laminate flooring, hooked the speakers over the edge, and then attached the board in three places 8)

VERY COOL!!! Bought my set...thanks for the info!!

Update - now $17.99! 8)

My friend bought a set of these speakers for his mame project, which is a great deal since it is now down to 17.99, but as he read the instructions, he pointed out that the subwoofer is not magnetically shielded.
-
I wouldn't bolt the hard drive to the sub enclosure ;), but if you keep it a foot or more space between 'em you'll probably be fine.
-
I tried a couple of different places inside my cab and there wasn't enough space to keep the sub from causing interference on the monitor.
-
I don't have much room in the cab, so a bracket or shelf is going to be the only alternative.
