Title: ps2 wireless controller to usb
Post by: k1134 on January 17, 2005, 07:38:05 pm
I just got a Logitech wireless controller.

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2277,CONTENTID=8157&ad=HPB_CdlActPS2

I also have a ps/n64 to usb converter.   looks kinda like this but older.

http://www.consolesandgadgets.com/catalog/product_info.php/products_id/254?osCsid=cf857dcb5788bd48ff375cbbbad4f6e3

when i plug the usb converter in, it sees a 4 axis 16 button joystick.  when i plug in the rf receiver, it never sees the controller.
would getting a direct ps2 to usb converter or a diy ps2 to parallel adapter work?  anyone have any experience or suggestions?

thank you

I have heard that some (most?) PS2-USB adapters won't work with (some?) wireless pads.
Found out yesterday that mine does :)

The pads are Joytech Wireless XS (low build quality - the on-off switch broke the second time it was used... >:( ) and the adaptor is some cheapo I got off eBay.

I noticed some lag when in Digital mode, unless I was pointing the stick directly at the receiver, but Analog seemed to work fine.
My guess is it's due to the lower than expected voltage (USB's 5V vs PS2's 6.2V?)
