Title: Problem installing Ultimarc ArcadeVGA
Post by: LeedsFan on January 17, 2005, 04:41:56 am
Wasn't too sure which forum to post this in, so posted it here. Basically I have managed to intstall the card OK on my Mame cab. Everything works fine and games play lovely on my arcade monitor.

But when I first boot the machine up to Windows desktop (not got round to running Mamewah in a shell yet) the system always detects new hardware as a Video adaptor. It cannot find the drivers for this and when I put the Ultimarc cd in the drive it finds nothing there either.

If I go into device manager there is a yellow warning sign next to Video adaptor and it says that this is not yet installed. If I press cancel and run Mamewah everything works fine. But what is Windows finding and trying to install?  ???

think this is a fairly common prob, try uninstalling the card and the std vga drivers, then rebooty, that may work.  but if its working, i wouldnt fret too much :D

I dont know the answer to your problem, but I had a question regarding an ultimarc product this morning (about 9.30am) & already have had a reply answering my question (about 10.30am) - what I am trying to say is e-mail them they are really good & then share what you did to fix it :)

Hit cancel when it detects the new hardware, then "Run the driver Setup program". Like it says on the installation page on the Ultimarc site...
