I found out about the skip validity checks recently on here. My mame computer is only a 700, so the command saves ALOT of loading time. Especially when checking a new game, 30 seconds is along time to wait just be able to tell at the opening screen you would never play it.
The Problem: Every now and then the skip validity checks is missing from the ini. One day it's there, and the next day it's not. I am NOT making any changes in any settings or configurations. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Mame32, ah...
Mame32 rewrites the ini every time you change any settings. This is a mame32 feature; official mame doesn't do this.
I don't use mame32 much, but it's possible 0.88 doesn't have that option in the settings windows in a box to check/upcheck. If not, then mame32 doesn't have that setting to write, so it's "removed" from the ini.
Try to find that settings in mame32's settings windows; if you can't find it, well, there's only a few things to do:
Never open mame32 settings.
Make your ini file read only.
Try a newer mame32 and see if this option was added. (If not, see above two...)

That would explain it. I thought because it wasn't a normal config option, it might be doing that. I know I didn't make any changes, but now that I think of it, my sons (8 & 10) use it sometimes. THey might have pulled up an option box and just okayed it to close the window. Thanks for the verification!
