Title: Horizontal Output Transistor?
Post by: GuinnessGuy74 on January 13, 2005, 02:38:17 pm
I had (or thought I had) a bad HOT due to the following ohm meter results

Took out Q11 (HOT), and checked it with my ohms meter. Results:

B-E (+ on B): 51 Ohms
B-E (- on B): 51 Ohms

B-C (+ on B): 1.78M Ohms
B-C (- on B): Open

C-E (+ on E): 1.78M Ohms
C-E (- on E): Open

I assumed that the B-E junction was shorted, but when I ordered a replacement ( 2sd1398 ), I have the same readings as above!

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Jim

I decided to do a little more investigating, as I am getting conflicting opinions regarding my ohm meter readings (some say transistor is bad, other say it is fine!).

I found out that diode 20 was shorted! I think that might be the reason for blowing the fuse.....I am going to replace it and see what happens!

Thanks again for everyones help!
