Title: Blooming on 25K5515 - Flyback from Zanen?
Post by: hiperco on January 12, 2005, 10:29:11 pm
I'm not satisfied with the brightness on my (refurbished by me, with Ken's help  ;D ) Wells 25K5515.  I notice some blooming as well.   Should I buy a new flyback?  (Wells part number 53X0531-001).  Any idea if Zanen carries this one?

By the way, my chassis is somehow running at 15KHz, even though its supposed to be medium resolution...in case this matters.

Good luck trying to find that flyback. I've been told it has been discontinued N.L.A., but try contacting the parts dept at Wells-Gardner.

Would a flyback from a 4900 work  (if it was available?), since the chassis is running at 15kHz?

It should---I've never tried it though.

Hmm, will I light up and have my bones become visible due to X-ray radiation emitting from the monitor if I use the wrong flyback  :-\ ?

(Is the 4900 flyback still available?)

4900 flybacks are impossible to get (N.L.A.). I have never had any luck finding any.

I too am looking for a 4900 flyback, I had to pirate one off of my standard res 4900 to get my medium res 4915 running fro my super sprint.

It was discontinued well over ten years ago. The only hope is to get HR Diemen company (www.hrdiemen.es/indexeng.shtml) to make reproductions.
