Title: Control Panel Lock / Hook ??
Post by: hyiu on May 16, 2002, 01:12:52 pm
Hi All:

I'm in the process of building a cabinet... but I would like to get most (if not all) details set before I start cutting.

I'm interested in building a cabinet with swappable control panels.... (1 - 2 player fighting style 6 buttons and 2 - trackball and spinner panel....)

I saw quite a few cabs in the example page that has
switchable panels.  And most of them uses 2 hooks of some kind to lock the thing in place.... My question is,
anyone has any clues what kind of hooks/ crams do you guys uses ?? Are they secure ?? (if I push hard on the stick, will the whole panel moves ??) where can I get them ?? Any special name to refer to for easier finding it ??

Thank you  for any pointers....

- Henry.

I'm using swappable CP. At first I had small doorlocks, but recently I've changed to velcro, the panels have now a much tighter and firmer grip.

Turnbuckles.  Tight, firm, solid for max joystick thrashing.

I have swappable panels.

The the side guides and the latch.

What you don;t see is on the horizontal bottom of the panel is a door lock plate that the latch catches on.
